Seahorse thanks

I made this card a few months ago, and I forgot that I'd taken these photos at all! I received a message from a recent Masters graduate, Maddi, who did research on seahorses. She wanted a thank you card for some of the keepers at Melbourne Zoo to thank them for allowing her to use their tanks.

I don't own any seahorse stamps, so I am grateful to Cecilia Hsieh of Cecilia's Cards for letting me borrow her stamp. I white embossed it onto watercolour cardstock, then added Distress Inks using the ink smooshing technique, then added more texture using stencils from Hero Arts and Dina Wakley with Distress Oxide inks, and some Wink of Stella over the seaweed fronds. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp, white embossed onto vellum. I finished with some droplets from Studio Katia.

Rainbow birthday

It's been almost 2 whole weeks since there's been a rainbow card on this blog - shock horror!

Guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

Hello! I am so excited to be the guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for June!

For this card, I used the Fantastic Flowers stamp set, white embossed onto watercolour cardstock. I then used the ink smoooshing technique to add some red, pale orange and pink with Distress Inks, and then added shading using matching Copic markers. I cut the panel down to allow for some white borders on either side, and added a white embossed sentiment from the June stamp of the month, Happy Irises.

Ombre blues and greens

I saw a card by Seeka at SkyPaperScissors a little while ago and decided I needed to CASE it (you can check out her card HERE.)

I used a die from Paper Rose Studio, a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, and a sentiment from Clearly Besotted.

Guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I am very excited to be a guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for June!

I know that Irises come in heaps of lovely colours, but I always gravitate to the blue and yellow ones :) . I used the June stamp of the month, Happy Irises, and I masked and white embossed the large iris from this set multiple times, before adding colour using Zig markers and water.

I will be sharing this card at AAA Birthday challenge

I absolutely adore this "Bookmark Bits & Pieces" stamp set - maybe because I am a member of a bookclub and often make bookmarks for my bookclub friends! The bookmark is made using a punch from Stampin' Up.

Guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I'm excited to be a guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for June!

For this card, I used the stamp of the month for June, Happy Irises. I stamped the main iris image using Shadow Inks from Hero Arts, and then added some details using Derwent pencils and some Wink of Stella. The sentiment is stamped in Versafine Onyx Black. I matted this panel on some purple cardstock, and added this over the cardbase that I'd inked with Wilted Violet Distress Oxide ink, and then stamped the same iris stamp over this with white pigment ink.

Guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I am super excited to be a guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for June!

I totally love this quote from Dr Seuss that Korin has included in the "Bookmarks Bits & Pieces" set. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added some curvy lines of pale colour from top to botttom. They're not in rainbow order (I love rainbows, but when the colours are not in rainbow order, I start to twitch) because they're in the same order as one of the images in the book "Oh, the places you'll go!"
I wanted the little ladybird to be sitting on a leaf, so I used a leaf image from the "Fantastic Flowers" set.

Guest designer for Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps

I am so excited to be a guest of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for June!  They have such a wide variety of pretty floral stamps, but I couldn't resist this large floral image.

I used the large flower in the Fabulous Flowers set for this card - white embossed onto watercolour cardstock and then coloured with Zig clean color real brush markers and water. The sentiment is from the June stamp of the month, Happy Irises

Faux stained glass

I just adore this cover die from Paper Rose. I used a technique from Jennifer McGuire to create a faux stained glass look.

I cut the die 4 times to make a thick layer, and also embossed a piece of cardstock with the same die. I coloured that piece with Copic Markers, then clear embossed it 4 times to give it a stained glass look, before adhering the layered dies over the top. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.

Rainbow stripes

I seem to have a problem - I'm addicted to making rainbows of alcohol ink on Yupo.

I cut the panel into stripes, and added a die from Create a Smile and an embossed sentiment from Birch Press.

Minecraft card

My nephew had his 8th birthday last month. He is MAD for Minecraft, and Steve is his favourite character, so I made him this card using Copic markers.
Not the prettiest or most artistic card I've ever made, but Thomas LOVED it!

The sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

Rest and Refresh release from Simon Says Stamp

I have another card to share using a stamp set called "Home sweet home" from the latest release at Simon Says Stamp.

I created a background using a technique by Jennifer McGuire - I used ink blending tools to add Distress Oxide inks (Blueprint sketch, Wilted violet and Festive Berries) to a panel of white cardstock, then took the Damask background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, sprayed the stamp with water and laid the inked panel over the stamp. I then heat set the panel before stamping the heart stamp in Versamark and then clear embossed the image. I then used another ink blending tool to add white pigment ink over the embossing. I finished with a few clear sequins.

Rest and Refresh release from Simon Says Stamp

I was so excited the other day to receive the "Home sweet home" stamp set from the new Rest and Refresh release from Simon Says Stamp!

I white embossed the "Thanks for your kindness" stamp onto watercolour cardstock, then added colour using Zig markers and water.

For this next card, I used my MISTI to mount the stamp and coloured the little flowers and leaves using Tombow markers. I then cleaned the stamp and stamped the whole image using Versamark and embossed with clear embossing powder. I then added colour using Distress Oxide Inks in Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean.
