MISTI Collaboration hop with Picket Fence Studios

Today, I'm hopping with the design team from Picket Fence Studios - we're collaborating with My Sweet Petunia to make cards using the MISTI!

We will choose winners of a $50 gift certificate to My Sweet Petunia, and a $50 gift certificate to Picket Fence Studios from all of the comments on the hop.

I used the Botan Peony stamp for this card - I stamped it in a pale colour onto watercolour paper, then did some ink smooshing with Hero Arts shadow inks and very simple copic colouring over the top. I then put the panel back into my MISTI and stamped over the image with Versamark ink and added white embossing powder. I heated the embossing powder, but then stamped again to add a 2nd layer of embossing powder.

I liked this card so much, I decided to make another one in a different colour scheme - and I made a video to show you how I did it!

I used a different colour scheme, and I also used a different sentiment - this one is from Early Tulip Bouquet from Picket Fence Studios.

For my 3rd card, I used a technique that I saw a few years ago from Kelly Latevola.

I cut a white panel to 5.5 x 4.25 inches, and cut another panel half the size. I used temporary adhesive to adhere the smaller panel in the middle of the larger panel, and stamped the Wild Rose Bouquet stamp onto both using my MISTI. This left a bit of a halo around the smaller panel, so I removed the smaller panel and re-stamped the image onto the larger panel - easy to do with the MISTI! I coloured the top panel with a rainbow of Copic markers, and the lower panel in greyscale. I matted the smaller panel onto a piece of Hero Arts black cardstock, lined it up to match the bottom panel perfectly, and added a white embossed sentiment on black cardstock. I finished by adding some white gel pen over the flower stamens.

The next stop on the hop is Karen Reategui, and below is the complete list of stops on the hop. Don't forget to comment along the way for a chance to win a $50 gift voucher from My Sweet Petunia or Picket Fence Studios! Get in quick, though - the winner will be announced on the Picket Fence Studios blog on June 2nd!

Thanks for visiting :)
