Thanks, Gnomie!

I have a super duper quick one-layer card to share today, using the Chillin Gnomes set from the Send Happiness release!

I did some quick and simple copic colouring with no blending, and added some Wink of Stella to his glasses.

Send Happiness for Simon Says Stamp

The new Send Happiness release is now available at Simon Says Stamp! I received a little package from them in the mail (the mail is so slow at the moment, but it is what it is!) so I got creating as soon as it arrived in my letter box!

I started with a panel of Yupo and added a rainbow of Alcohol Inks. I added some silver foil over the top, which adheres to the slightly sticky bits of alcohol ink. I then took the Chunky Love you die set from CZ design and Simon Says Stamp and cut it from white cardstock with a shadow cut from vellum. I adhered this to the yupo on the front of a card and I was done!

Fabulous for Paper Rose

I have a card to share today using one of my all time favourite dies from Paper Rose.

I used the Blooming Flowers Background die to cut a panel of vellum. I also used the die as an impression plate to impress the image onto my card base to give me a guide to where to add my pink and blue Distress Oxide ink blending. I adhered the vellum with double sided tape around the edges.
For the sentiment, I used the Fabulous layered metal die cut from a scrap of purple cardstock, along with a stamp from the Beautiful Words Clear stamp set

One-layer stenciled card for Picket Fence Studios

I made quite a few one-layer cards form this month's release at Picket Fence Studios - here's another one!

I used the Fireburst Stencil, but I masked it so that I only used one corner of the stencil. I used my Life Changing Blender Brushes to ink in almost a complete rainbow of Distress Oxide Inks, moving the stencil each time. I finished by adding a sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments.

I;m also sharing a card I made a little while ago by mixing different Paper Glazes together to get some new colours.

I started by stamping the Ponchatoula Strawberries image with Picket Fence black hybrid ink. I then mixed Peony Pink and Marigold Orange paper glazes to give the Strawberry red, and I mixed Leaf Green and Fern green to give Chlorophyll for the leaves. The sentiment is from Fancy Sentiments and I used the Knots Scales stencil int he background with Distress Oxide ink. The sentiment from Fancy Sentiments is white embossed on a scrap of black cardstock.

Fusion: Relaxed Living

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I started with a piece of patterned paper from my stash as the background. I added daisies from Paper Rose white embossed on vellum, and added some yellow Copic marker to the flower centres. I added the flowers using tiny dots of liquid adhesive, and then added a white banner with a sentiment from Poppy Stamps to match the sketch.

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation!

I'll also be sharing this card at AAABirthday Card Challenges for their Vellum theme.

Hello, friend

I've been making lots of cards recently to send for no apparent reason other than to put a smile on someone's face. This is one of them.

I used a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, white embossed and coloured with Zig markers and water, and a sentiment from Mama Elephant.

Stamping with water

This card came from a mistake - I was going to make a card using a technique from the last online Card Class which involved adding die cuts to a panel and then adding ink, but I got overexcited and added the ink with Life Changing Blender Brushes first, so I decided to keep the panel and did a different technique on it.

I stamped on the Distress Ink blended panel with a background stamp from Simon Says Stamp, but with water instead of ink. I then dried the panel well, before stamping the sentiment from Studio Katia in Versafine onyx black ink, and clear embossing it. Some sequins and I was done!

Look for rainbows with Picket Fence Studios

I always look for rainbows, and if there isn't one to be found, I colour one for myself!

I used an image and a sentiment from the new set, After the Storm, stamped in Picket Fence Black Hybrid Ink. I coloured it with Copic markers, and added some Wink of Stella to the umbrellas.
I had been planning to draw in some raindrops, but I decided to repurpose the new Baker's Twine set to create my raindrops.

Little things for Paper Rose

Hello! I have a card to share today using products from Paper Rose.

I used the Ginkgo Leaf layered die to create a stencil that I used on the background of this card. I used Paper Rose inks in the colours Grass, Lime and Pool.  I stamped the blossoms from Lovely Florals Blossom Flowers in Black Hybrid ink, and coloured the middle of the flowers with Berry ink. I stamped the sentiment from the Snugglepot and Cuddlepie Little Things stamp set and I was done!

Old meets new at A Blog Named Hero

The new challenge at A Blog Named Hero is to combine an older Hero Arts product with something newer. I paired my favourite stamp of all time with an ombre stamped sentiment.

I used the Flower Dot Pattern (I am sorry to tell you that it is discontinued) with the Thinking of You Stamp and Cut set. I emboossed the background stamp in white and coloured it with Zig markers are water. I then fussy cut around part of the image to form a border. I inked up the Thinking of You sentiment in my Misti with Distress Inks in Mermaid Lagoon, then Blueprint Sketch, then Chipped Sapphire to get the ombre look.

Metallic emboss resist

Hello! I have a card to share today for the current Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

I used the Hero Arts/Basic Grey Spice market large petal background stamp (which is sadly discontinued), gold embossed onto watercolour paper. I coloured it with Zig markers and sprayed with water, and repeated to get more depth of colour. I cut the panel in half, adhered it to a top folding white card base, and added a sentiment from the new Easy Expressions Birthday stamp set and matching die from The Ton.

Release day at Picket Fence Studios

The June release at Picket Fence studios has something for everyone! I particularly love the stencils, so I have two one-layer cards using new stencils to share today.

I used the Fancy Kaleidoscope stencil with a rainbow of Distress Oxide Inks applied with my Life Changing Blender Brushes on this card. I added a sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments, and sequins from the new Gin & Tonic sequin mix.

For my next card, I masked off quite a bit of the Triple Weave Stencil and applied Distress Oxide inks with Life Changing Blender Brushes. I removed the masks and the stencil and stamped a sentiment from Do Not Take Any Shit. Two cards, both with nearly a complete rainbow over a stencil, both one-layer cards, two completely different looks!

And now for something completely different - a watercolour card using the new Cresting Wave stamp as emboss resist.

I used Gansai Tambi watercolours to paint the panel, and finished with a white embossed sentiment from More Fancy Sentiments.

Fusion: Butterfly

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I followed the photo inspiration quite literally for this card - I used the large Swallowtail Beauty butterfly stamp from Picket Fence Studios and coloured it with a variety of blue Zig markers and water. I flicked some blue into the background, too, before flicking Perfect Pearls in water over the whole panel. The sentiment is from Taylored Expressions.

Wedding card for Picket Fence Studios

I missed the May release for Picket Fence Studios due to delays to international mail, so I'm making up for lost time :)

I used the "To the lovely couple" stamp set to stamp the cake on a piece of vellum in Versamark and then white embossed it and fussy cut it. I layered it over a piece of yupo with alcohol inks and alcohol pearls in orange and yellow. I added a sentiment from the same stamp set, white embossed onto a scrap of pale pinky/orange cardstock. I finished with some Gin and Tonic sequins.

Happy birthday, Thomas

It was my nephew Thomas' birthday last month - I made this card for my parents to  give to him.

I used a background stamp from Taylored Expressions, inked in Distress Inks and stamped with water onto watercolour paper. The sentiment is also from Taylored Expressions, and the alphabet dies are from Altenew.

Embossing over alcohol pearls

I've made cards like this one before, but I used Yupo. It is possible to emboss onto Yupo, but it's a bit tricky to avoid the Yupo from warping, so I was happy when my friend Aileen Ryan put me onto a different product, Grafix Craft Plastic, that doesn't warp as much as Yupo.

I used a rainbow of alcohol pearls, white embossed the floral image from Kind Soul by Wplus9, then stamped the sentiment in Altenew obsidian ink and clear embossed it.
