Sending love with hibiscus flowers for Picket Fence Studios

Today I'm sharing a card I made using products from Picket Fence Studios.

I coloured these hibiscus flowers to match ones we used to have in our garden when I was a child. I did some creative cutting of the sentiment dies to nest the "l" of the love into the "g" of the sending.

Colourful birthday card for Paper Rose

I have a colourful birthday card to share today for Paper Rose Studio.

I began with a piece of yupo, and I added some Alcohol Pearl inks. I die cut the Blooming flowers background die from white cardstock, and adhered it over the top of the yupo. I adhered this to a purple card base made from Brights coloured cardstock, added some white faux stitching with a gel pen, and added a printed sentiment from Big Black and White sentiment sheets.

Blue hello

I sent this card to a crafty friend in the USA a little while ago (hi, Esther!), but only just got around to posting it onto my blog today.

It is an alcohol ink and alcohol alloy background with a die and printed sentiment from Paper Rose. I added some liquid glue to the bottom edge of the hello to add some gilding flakes.

Bookmark for A Blog Named Hero

This month, the challenge at A Blog Named Hero is to make a shaped project. I used one of the large tag shaped bookmarks included in the March My Monthly Hero kit to make this bookmark.

I used inks from Catherine Pooler, with a Hero Arts/Gina K collaboration stamp set, and a sentiment from "You Shine".

Sympathy cards for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a set of sympathy cards for Paper Rose Studios.

I used a 3D embossing folder on some Neenah solar white 110lb cardstock. I used a blending brush to add some Distress Oxide ink around the edges (thank you to my crafty friend, Esther, for that suggestion!), before matting it on some matching cardstock and then adhering to a top folding white card. The sentiment is from the Daisy Border stamp set, which I white embossed onto a scrap of the same coloured cardstock.

Pink Daisies for Picket Fence Studios

Today, I'm sharing a pink daisy card using stamps from Picket Fence Studios.

I stamped the image in black in, and then in Versamark, before clear embossing it. I then coloured it with Copic markers. I coloured the edge of the card base with one of the copic markers I used in the daisies.

Textured Rainbow for Paper Rose

Back in February, I attended an online Gel Press workshop/retreat with Lydia Fiedler of Understand Blue. There were heaps of amazing techniques, and these two cards came from one of those techniques.

I began by running a piece of white cardstock through my die cutting machine to emboss with the Tulips 3D embossing folder. I then added Distress Oxide inks in Abandoned Coral, Fossilized Amber and Broken China to my Gel Press and blended the colours with a brayer. I then gently pressed  the embossed panel into the gel press to pick up the colour onto the raised parts of the image. To finish the first card, I added a die cut and a printed sentiment strip.

This results in lots of ink being left on the Gel Press where the embossed image did not pick it up, so I took a piece of printer paper and took a print from the remaining ink.

To finish the 2nd card, I added a stamped sentiment.

Floral Mother's Day cards

I made three Mother's Day cards using the same stamps, the same white embossing, but three different colouring techniques.

For this card, I coloured using Nuance watercolour powders.

For this 2nd card, I used Distress Oxide inks for the ink smooshed background, and copic markers to add deeper colour to the flowers and leaves.

I used Zig markers and a water brush for this 3rd card.

The floral stamp I used in these cards is sadly discontinued, so I have linked below to some other floral stamps that would work just as well.
