I made this quick card this evening to fit in with the colour challenge at colourQ. The layout is from a Clean and Simple challenge that I missed earlier in the year :(
These are, apparently, the new "in colours" for Stampin' Up in the United States. I don't know whether we will get the same colours her in Australia, but we will have to wait until September to find out.

Yet another card for Fathers Day
For this card, I got the layout from a card made by Sue Madex. (this is not a link to the actual card - I couldn't find it on her blog). Hers had the SU jumbo wheel "so swirly" as the main image, but I've used part of this wheat background stamp, inked up with a variety of inks from a Colorbox Queue chalk ink set. They're quite wet inks, and I got a few little fingerprint marks on the white panel, but I think that just adds to the rustic feel (that's my story and I'm sticking to it!)

CASual Fridays CFC #13
This week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge is to make a long, thin card (DL sized). I made one a few weeks ago, so I decided to make this one similar - but instead of hearts, I used butterflies.
Daring cardmakers challenge
The girls at Daring Cardmakers have a challenge this week called "cute as a button". The card must include buttons as a focal point or main feature of the card. Here's my attempt.
Thanks for stopping by :)
POST SCRIPT - I realised that this card also qualifies for this weeks CAS-ual Fridays challenge! So I'm posting it there too :) (I'm not feeling 100% - obviously, my brain is not working properly, or I would have done this earlier today.)
Another Fathers Day card
For this card, I used the same special plastic stuff as in this card, but a different layout. I think I like the other one better :( but, the aim was to make use of as much of this plastic stuff as possible, and, being a thick DL envelope, I had the folded edges with slits in to deal with ;)
Card patterns sketch 125
I'm trying to participate in more and more challenges - some are style, some are colour, some are what you can and cannot include on a card, but this one at Card Patterns is a sketch challenge.
I wanted to use this patterned paper from an 8X8 pad by October Aternoon, called "Fly a Kite", and I wanted the scalloped edge to be in white.
I stamped (Versamark) and embossed some flowery stems from Stampin' Up (can't remember the name of the set) on the bottom edge of the card. I was about to photograph a close up, and my camera battery decided that that was the moment to run out of juice! So my camera is, at this moment, charging up :) I made the photo extra large, because the flowers were a bit hard to see when the photo was smaller :(

Happy birthday, Angela
I made this card for my friend, Angela, whose birthday was yesterday (I just didn't get around to posting it here until today - no worries - she got the real card on Tuesday!!)
I have almost run out of this turquoise coloured ribbon - and the shop I bought it from no longer exists! :'( I've also run out of the paper - but that is from Cristina Re, which gives me the perfect excuse to visit her gorgeous shop :)

July 2011 Papertrey Blog Hop
This card was made as part of a challenge run by Papertrey Ink. The idea is to use the photo on Nicole Heady's Papertrey Ink blog as inspiration for a card. I used the colours, the butterfly and the pattern on the throw rug as my inspiration.

Getting prepared for Fathers day
I took my boxes of cards to choir the other night, and I sold a few, but I had a request from one of my choir buddies, Rebecca, for Fathers Day cards. I only had one! Well, this one won't be added to the "for sale" stash, unfortunately - this one's for my dad (he's a retired mechanic).
It's a pity I have no idea how to do videos, because this patterned paper is not patterned paper at all! It is plastic, and it's one of those images that moves as you move the plastic! Each of the gears in the image rotates - it is quite impressive! My brother got it in the mail with some advertising material - the envelope containing the ads was made of this stuff! Luckily, he kept it for me instead of donating it to Miss Five's scrap paper stash :) I will have to ration it carefully - I have 2 sides of a DL envelope left - the piece in this card is the flap of the envelope.
Week 4, card 14 - Summer Card Camp has come to an end
I'm miserable this morning, because Summer Card Camp has come to an end :( I've had such a great time making cards in the past 4 weeks using Kristina and Jennifer's tips, colours, techniques and encouragement. I am so looking forward to their next card camp, whenever that may be - but, from my point of view, the sooner the better!! I've also absolutely loved seeing cards and creations from my fellow stampers and cardmakers in blogland - and I'll be keeping up with a number of you by following your blogs :) There has been so much inspiration flowing, I have a head full (and a notebook full) of ideas!
Anyway, here's my last contribution to the Camp - using one of the bonus colour schemes from week 4.
When I first saw these colours, I kinda went "ow! my eyes! SO BRIGHT!!"
But, toned down with a whole lot of white, I quite like the conmbination

Week 4, card 13
I've used some more Cristina Re paper for this card - kept it simple to let the paper take centre stage. And it fit the colour scheme perfectly :)
Week 4, card 12, Summer Card Camp & JAI Challenge #77
I found another challenge to work with - this time, it's the Just Add Ink sketch challenge #77. Again, I've used one of the Summer Card Camp bonus colour schemes.

Week 4, card 11, Summer Card Camp & CASE Study Challenge #49
Another card, another challenge! This time, it's from the Case Study Challenge Blog, challenge #49.The colour scheme is another Summer Card Camp bonus colour scheme ;)
As I was grabbing out card, stamps, inks and ribbon for this card, I discovered that I don't have any dark or mid-grey cardstock - only silver! Quelle nightmare!! Must rectify that quick smart!

Week 4, card 10, Summer Card Camp & CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC12
I decided to try a number of different challenges - after all, the aim of me joining Summer Card Camp was to try new things and learn stuff :)
I recently came across CAS-ual Fridays, and I decided to try the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge CFC12, which was to include a rub-on or sticker on a card. Well, I went the whole hog - EVERYTHING on this card is a sticker!! They're all from the same sheet from Doodlebug Design - I've previously used it on my pink-pirate-monkey-housewarming card - it's a long story - see the story here and the card here :)
I also used a bonus Summer Card Camp colour scheme.

Week 4, card 9, Summer Card Camp & CAS #150
This is one of the last 6 bonus colour schemes for the Summer Cards Camp. The layout is a Clean and Simple challenge - #150.
Here's the card, colour scheme and layout :)
The red heart is punched out of a Cristina Re paper which is flocked - I just love it, but that means I hoard it - - I'm trying more and more to use papers that I love, rather than have them sitting pristine in a box ;)

Week 4, card 8, Summer Card Camp - I'm over my fear of patterned papers :)
After a few very full-on days at work, I've come home tonight with swollen glands and not feeling the best. However, I really wanted to make another card tonight, so it had to be an easy one.
I also had a pile of patterned papers in this week's colour scheme that I'd pulled out on Monday and they were sitting on the desk. So I decided to use them - ALL AT ONCE!!! For someone who is scared of putting different patterned papers together, this Summer Card Camp has been a great opportunity to challenge myself and, with Kristina Werners tips, I think I'm over my patterned-paper-matching phobia :)
Post Script - I got onto the Summer Card Camp website after I made this card, to find that Kristina's video tutorial for today is about using repetition in cards! LOL! I must be psychic!

Week 4, card 7, Summer Card Camp - It's Christmas in July!
I was at a Christmas in July card class at Sue Madex's place last night, and my best friend, Sharyne, suggested that I could do a Christmas card using this week's colour scheme. Here 'tis :)
I've made this card before, but with reds and greens, not blues and aquas!! I recently added to my collection on Tombow markers, and a good thing, too, as the aqua in the top right bauble, and the blue in the greeting are new additions! I tried to catch the glitter and the bling in the next photo, but, as usual, it looks better in the flesh than in the photo.
Merry Christmas! ;)

Week 4, card 6, Summer Card Camp
I went searching through my paper stash last night, because I knew this paper from Cristina Re was somewhere, and it fits the colour scheme so perfectly. I thought I had a whole A4 sheet left, but I could only find this offcut, so that's what I had to use.
I had to take a close up of this one, because the glitter I added is the best bit! You can't really make out the glitteryness in the first photo :( I'm also quite pleased with my hand-tied bow :) This ribbon is getting a workout this week!
I only just realised - I've passed 100 blog posts, and I didn't even notice! This is post number 103 :) I've written so many posts in the past three-and-a-bit weeks, 100 just crept up on me, and then whizzed past without a second glance!
