I recently bought a set of watercolour paints, so yesterday I pulled them out and had a play. I went through my stash and dug out some paintbrushes (those things have been breeding, I had no idea how many I had!) and a mug of water and a pad of Canson watercolour paper I bought a few weeks ago and just did some experimenting. I cut out a panel of watercolour paper using a "stitched mat" die from Lil' Inkers - (For the second card, I had to extend the die by cutting half, repositioning carefully and cutting the other edge to make a panel the right size.)
And then I did version 2. More intense colour (especially the blue background) and a different layout. Which do you prefer?
I'll be submitting this card to
Keep it Simple - Watercolor
and to
Virginia's View Challenge #3 - Stitching.
and to

Thanks for visiting.
Love the water-coloring, Michelle! Your faux stitching is lovely for this design! Thanks SO much for entering Virginia's View Challenge!

ReplyDeleteBeautiful - love the watercolouring and the stitched die! Both cards are elegant and CAS :)
ReplyDeleteBoth versions of your sympathy cards are really lovely, Michelle! The faux stitching is a perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteA really lovely sentiment card. Very elegant and so pretty the way you watercolored the BG for the flower.
ReplyDeleteBoth really gorgeous!! Love all that white space too!
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone --- BOTH cards are awesome!! I love how you thought to cut out the same panel, and the sewing...YOU ROCK! I've been dying to play in Virginia's challenge and even have a brand new sewing machine the DH bought me for Christmas....but for some reason, sewing intimidates me so much, I'm almost afraid to try. The only thing I have used it for, (so far) is some mending that my son asked me to do! Nothing to do with my cards and that's the main reason I wanted it!! Hope to see you again in class tomorrow!!
