Coffee Lovers Bloghop!

Let's just get this right out of the way at the very beginning.  I hate coffee. Loathe the stuff.  Give me a tea or a hot chocolate any day!  However, I do love cardmaking, and I love a good blog hop ;)  And there's a coffee lovers blog hop being hosted by Chaitali today!
Being a non-coffee drinker, I don't have any stamps appropriate to this blog hop, so I just drew this mug and added the labels myself.  These labels seem to apply to a lot of coffee drinkers I know :)

Make sure you visit Chaitali's blog HERE to check out all the caffeinated cards!

Forgot to blog this card!

I made this card a little while ago, and forgot to write up a blog post about it.  I used a stencil that I bought at Paperific, and embossing paste I coloured using Gelatos.

I'll be submitting this to Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes".

Birthday cards for twins.

I went to a birthday party in the park earlier today for twin two-year-olds - a boy and a girl.  I've been flat out recently with all sorts stuff, so I very quickly made these two matching cards this morning.

I'll be submitting these to Simon Says Stamp "Anything Goes" challenge.

I have signed up for the latest Online Card Class - I just haven't had a chance to do much homework!  I used these two cards to get some practice of two-colour blending on each of the balloons.

Addicted to CAS - Codeword: Cuddly

Yes the codeword is "Cuddly".  My Mum chose it, because I couldn't decide between a shortlist of 4 words!!

This teddy bear stamp, believe it or not, is the very first stamp I ever bought (in 1998).  The rubber has gone a bit yukky and hard, so I was amazed that it stamped so well!

Fusion # 19

Welcome to Challenge 19 at Fusion!

When I looked at the inspiration photo, I thought of the mirror cardstock I have from Tom Holtz. I coloured in a piece with 3 different pink Copics to get a kind of streaky ombre look. I managed to die cut it, but I don't recommend it - it was quite thick, and didn't cut all the way through, so I ended up cutting around the butterflies with scissors.

A sketch and a challenge

I made this very quick CAS card yesterday. I was wearing some new earrings that have a blue and white floral print with a silver rim around the edge, so I wanted to make something with blue, white and silver.  Dunno how that pink and green managed to creep in there!
I used Avery Elle's sets, "Oh Happy Day" and "So Happy" - I just adore the fonts in these sentiments, and I was so happy when Avery Elle released the "Oh Happy" set with "Happy Birthday" in it!
I embossed the sentiment in silver, and stamped the solid flowers, then the stripey flowers with some Hero Arts shadow inks, and some Stampin' Up inks.
I'll be submitting this to Avery Elle's AEI<3u a="" and="" challenge="" lean="" simple="">, and to CAS(e) this sketch (I tipped the sketch on its side).

Addicted to CAS - Codeword: Oriental

This week's ATCAS codeword is "Oriental" , so I knew exactly where to start.  A couple of years ago, by bestie, Sharyne, bought me some beautiful handmade Japanese paper when she went to a trip to Japan.  It is just the most beautiful paper, I've been hoarding it!!

Happy birthday, Marco

Happy 1st birthday to Anne-Marie and David's little man, Marco.  I'm so sorry I couldn't be there for his party, but I made this card for him.

Happy Father's Day

It's Father's Day tomorrow in Australia, so I made this card for my Dad.

Happy Father's Day :)
I used a cute little owl from a discontinued SU set, coloured with Copics, along with sentiment words from Winnie and Wlater "the Big, the Bold and the Happy", the Big Word Pop Curve die from Memory Box, and some patterned paper from Basic Grey's Hipster 6x6 pad.
I'll be submitting this card to CASology Cue card "Under", and to Virginia's View Challenge #7 Patterned Paper

Challenges, challenges

I've had a challenging few weeks, so I was happy to be able to find my craft desk today and take part in a few challenges.
I stamped some flowers and leaves and twirly bits from Altenew's set, Hennah Elements, in Versamark ink onto some vellum and then white embossed. I then coloured them from behind using Copics.  I then die cut the "Happy" using Simon Says Stamp's Happy Birthday craft die, and stamped "birthday" from Winnie and Walter's, "The Big, the Bold and the Happy" in Versafine smokey grey ink.  The final touch was the paper piercing along the top of the vellum panel.

I'll be submitting this card to CASE Study #207, CAS(E) this sketch #91, and CASology Cue Card "under" (as the vellum is coloured from underneath).

A Blog Named Hero - Spell it Out

The latest challenge at A Blog Named Hero is "Spell It Out For Me" - we are using Alphabet stamps!  Yes, I know, I cheated - I didn't use a letter from the alphabet!  I used the ampersand stamp from Hero Arts "Happy Letters" stamp set to create my background in Tide Pool, Butterbar, Soft Cantaloupe and Bubblegum Shadow Inks.

I made a mask using my favourite HA butterfly die, and also masked off to top half of the card.  I then stamped the ampersand over and over and over!  Before removing the masks, I spritzed around the butterfly mask with a Copic marker in RV 14, using my Tim Holtz spritzing tool to define the edge.  Then I removed the mask and stamped my sentiment from Winnie and Walter.  (All the Design Team at A Blog Named Hero get to play with Winnie and Walter stamps this month - we are just so very lucky!!)

Make sure you check out the rest of the DT creations over at ABNH, and join in!
Many thanks to Winnie and Walter!!
