With sympathy

Sympathy cards are difficult. I try to make them pretty simple, but when I made this one, I just stamped the fern leaf and the sentiment in a blend of blue and green Hero Arts Shadow Inks, and it was just too simple.
I added some silver gel pen detail on the leaf and extended the silver dotted line to the edge of the card, but I needed more detail.  So I added some blended Distress Inks to the bottom edge of the card (under the leaf and the silver lines), but it needed more.  So I put the Rain Dance stencil from Hero Arts over the Distress Ink area, and removed some ink with a baby wipe, and I decided I was done.

Thanks for visiting :)

  1. Don't overthink sympathy cards...keep them clean, neat and respectful. Truly, speaking from being the recipient of sympathy cards this year, the only thing that really matters is what you hand write inside. That being said, I do like your use of the stencil on this card...something I've not mastered...yet!
