Monoprint sympathy cards

I'm still using techniques I learned from the most recent Online Card Class - this technique was demonstrated by Dawn Woleslagle.

I used Distress Oxide inks, with leaf stamps from Altenew, and a sentiment from Papertrey Ink.

And I got to make 2 cards from the one inked panel.

The great thing about this technique is you get 2 panels from the one technique - this is what I made from the 2nd panel. The sentiment on this card is from Avery Elle.

Flowy leaves rainbow for Paper Rose

I made a card a little while ago with no white space on it at all. I liked it, but it was so unlike me that I made this card the very next day.

I used the Flowy Leaves Stencil and masked off certain parts to get the leaves hanging down from the top edge of the card. I then added a rainbow of Distress Oxide inks, blending a little bit between the colours. I finished with a sentiment from the Poppies clear stamp set stamped in black hybrid ink, and a scattering of clear sequins.

Fusion: Summer

Welcome to a new challenge at Fusion!

I made the watermelon pieces from 2 circle dies, and drew the seeds by hand. The sentiment is from The Ton "Easy Expressions" stamp set and matching die. I added these over a white card base with some Squeezed lemonade Distress Oxide Ink on the bottom edge.

Make sure you check out all the rest of the inspiration at the Fusion challenge blog, and play along with your own creation!

Snowy trees for Picket Fence Studios

I have a snowy card to share today for Picket Fence Studios.

I used the new stamp set "most wonderful time of the year" and white embossed the snowy part of the tree onto vellum. I fussy cut around them, and cut one down to be shorter. I adhered these onto a panel of watercolour paper that I'd coloured with nuance waterdcolour powders. I hand cut the snowdrift on the bottom edge of the card, and stamped the sentiment from Inside Quotes Christmas. I decorated the larger tree with Gin and Tonic sequins.

Pale watercolour for Paper Rose

I have two cards to share for Paper Rose today - and they are non-identical twins!

I first created a panel of watercolour paper with a very soft ombre wash of pink and pale orange watercolour (I used Distress Inks as watercolours). I cut it with the Blooming Flowers Background die, and also cut a piece of white cardstock with the same die. I adhered the white die onto a white card front, and chose some pieces of the floral images from the watercolour panel and adhered them in place into the main panel.  I added a sentiment from Black and White Sentiments and some clear sequins.

After making the first card, I had the leftover piece of watercolour panel, so I made another card to keep my first card company!

Embossing at A Blog Named Hero

The new challenge at  A Blog Named Hero is embossing, so I have this card up at the A Blog Named Hero Facebook page.

I white embossed the floral image from the Friendship blooms stamp set onto vellum, and coloured the back of the vellum with blue and green Copic markers. I fussy cut the image, and adhered it to a panel of Yupo with blue alcohol inks. I finished with a white embossed sentiment on a scrap of blue cardstock and some little droplets from Studio Katia.

Release day at Picket Fence Studios

It's the 14th of the month, which means it's release day at Picket Fence Studios! Today, I'm sharing cards I made using some of the stencils in today's release. Just so you know, this release is full of Christmas and Halloween goodies, so be prepared for some festive fare! There's a list of all the new products at the bottom of this post.

For this card, I stamped part of the image from Baby it's Cold Outside, coloured it with Copic markers and then masked it. I then inked the sky using Distress Oxide inks, then added the Field of Snowy Trees Stencil and added Nuvo glimmer paste over three of the trees. I finished with some sequins and a sentiment from Inside Sentiments: Christmas.

For my 2nd card, I used the Brocade stencil.

I started with a panel of white cardstock and swiped it with Distress Oxide inkpads in a series of blues. I then added the Brocade stencil and sprayed over the top with Perfect Pearls in water. This made the ink oxidise and also added some gorgeous shine. I stamped the sentiment from Baby It's Cold Outside and added some Gin and Tonic mix sequins.

For my last card, I used The Flower of Life stencil.

I inked over the stencil selectively with blue and grey Distress Oxide inks using my Life Changing Blender Brushes. I used the small snowflake stamps to add a snowflake to the middle of the more heavily inked parts of the stencil, and embossed the smaller snowflakes with WOW embossing glitter. I added some sequins and a white embossed sentiment from Inside Quotes.

Did you know?

You can get a free Picket Fence Studios stamp from Simon Says Stamp!

Stamping with water

I've made a few cards recently with ink blending and stamping with water.

I used a background stamp from Catherine Pooler with a hello die (sadly discontinued), and a sentiment strip from Taylored Expressions.
