CASEing a superstar - Jennifer McGuire

Today,  I am celebrating my 1000th post to this blog!  YAY!

I thought I would celebrate in two ways - firstly, I'm CASEing some of my all-time favourite cards over the next week - ones that I have pinned on Pinterest.  These are from some of my favourite card-making superstars.  Today's CASE is of a card by Jennifer McGuire.

Here's the card I CASEd

Then I decided to make another CASE of the same card!

Here's the second way I'm celebrating - I thought I would do a giveaway :)

I have a bag full of goodies, including things from Hero Arts, Simon Says Stamp, Kaisercraft, Stickles, Basic Grey, My Minds Eye, The Twinery, Imaginisce, Pebbles, Prima, Uniball, Kuretake, and a couple of other goodies thrown in for good measure!

All you need to do for a chance to win this giveaway is fill in the Rafflecopter thingamajig below.  There are multiple ways to enter, and each one gives you an entry (or more than one)! I will announce the winner sometime in the week following the close of the Rafflecopter - you have until Friday, 14th August at 2pm AEST (that's 12am EST for my friends in the US and Canada, or 4am GMT for UK and European peeps.)

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!

Now, if you know anything about Jennifer McGuire, you know that she is one of the sweetest and most generous ladies there is.  So when I asked her whether she was OK with me posting a photo of her card here on my blog, not only did she say she was honoured (and my jaw dropped), but she also offered an extra giveaway for my blog event - free registration to the latest Online Card Class - Background Check! Can you IMAGINE how excited I am by this - I have taken part in every single Online Card Class since they began, and I've loved every single one! So, to win a spot in this awesome card class, all you need to do is comment on this post, telling me your favourite background stamp (my current favourite is Hero Arts/Basic Grey Highline Ironwork Background). You have until Friday, 14th August to comment.

Many thanks to Christine Drogt at Create a Smile and Jennifer McGuire at Online Card Classes for their generous sponsorship!

  6. Congrats on your post and your wonderful giveaway. How awesome is Jennifer? How awesome are these cards. I'm a follower of your blog and often save them for inspiration when I am crafting. I'm not always good about commenting, though. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration I find here. My favorite background stamp is a Hero Arts one from a few years ago called Magical Background. All those dots in the swirl shapes make me happy. :)

  12. Michelle, I wanted to take a moment of your time to thank you for the beautiful cards you create and share with us. I have only recently found you and am so happy I did. Your artwork is cheerful, bright and fun. I love trying to replicate your cards and although I rarely have my own ideas, I do get inspired by your work. I also wanted you to know that I am also a big fan of Jennifer McGuire's and like you, think she is an amazing artist. But don't ever sell yourself short, you've got a fabulous talent. Thanks again for the beauty you share with us.

  16. Michelle, I love your second card here, looks brilliant. I was just reading through comments of your other posts and realised I had misunderstood CASE. I thought for some reason CASE was Copy and Share everything. Meaning I will do my card the same as your card, maybe different colour or slight change to layout and credit you for the design. I tell you I need classes on what not to do lol.

    1. Hi, Aileen - As far as I know, CASE does mean Copy and Share Everything! I think different people have different levels to which they are happy "copying". Personally, I'd much rather do my own take on someone else's card with some new twist or idea or layout or colour scheme, just like you - I do sometimes start out doing a direct copy, but I usually end up with something new anyway. Either way, I think it is important to give credit where credit is due - and I asked all of my "guests" this week for their permission to post their cards here, and make my own version.
