Challenge me a Christmas Card with Linda Trace

Welcome! Last year, I did a series on my blog where I asked people to set me a Christmas card challenge. This year, I'm stepping it up a notch, by asking crafty friends to join me!
How cool is this graphic!! My crafty friend, Kylie Purtell, made it especially for me! YAY!  You can check out her blog HERE.

Today, the challenge theme is Finland. (yes, you read correctly - one of my dear friends from school, Heidi, has Finnish heritage, so that's the challenge!)

My special guest today is Linda Trace - you can check out her take on this challenge HERE.

Here's my take:
My thought process was - what do you find in Finland in December? Snow and ice and Santa, but I always make snowy cards and Santa cards at Christmastime. But you also find darkness and the Aurora borealis.

I started with white cardstock and blended over it with Chipped Sapphire and Black Soot Disstress Inks. I then added some colour using Distress Oxide inks in Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Cracked Pistachio, using a hand cut stencil to get the waves.
I finished with a black die cut from Memory Box ("Fresh pine Curved Border"), and a white heat embossed sentiment from Avery Elle "Let it Snow".
Thanks for visiting :)
