Happy Fathers Day

It was Fathers Day in Australia on the weekend, so I made this card for my dad (he likes blue, too!)

I CASEd THIS CARD by Lisa Tilson - I changed up her idea a bit by not using foil, and by impressing the bottom edge of the happy die into the white cardstock - I thought it would make the sentiment clearer if the outline of the whole word was visible, but I wanted to do partial die cutting, so I thought this was a way to get the best of both worlds.
For the alcohol ink background, I tried something different - I had added lots of alcohol ink to a yupo panel, and realised I had added WAY too much ink, so I grabbed another piece of yupo and smooshed the two pieces together - I will be trying this again, because I was really happy with the result! It looks super smooth!
Thanks for visiting :)

  1. what a great idea to smoosh two inked pieces together - going to have to give that a try as your card turned out fantastic!
