Football birthday card

I was asked to make a birthday card for a teenaged football fan. I don't have any stamps or dies that are football themed, so I purchased a digital silhouette stamp from Etsy and printed it in greyscale, and fussy cut around one edge. I adhered it over an alcohol ink background. The sentiment is from Poppy Stamps.

Masculine birthday card for WOW! embossing

Hello! I've thoroughly enjoyed being a guest designer for WOW! Embossing this month, but today is my last post! Today, I'm sharing a masculine birthday card with a bunch of different embossing glitters.

I always need birthday cards, and I'm not the best at making masculine birthday cards, so I thought I'd challenge myself to use heaps of gorgeous, glittery embossing glitters and powders on a masculine card. I cut out a bunch of little rectangles using a sentiment die from Hero Arts, in various shades of green and blue. I then embossed most of them with WOW! Embossing glitters in Pea Coat, Cerulean, Midas Touch and Neutral Ultra Shimmer. I arranged the rectangles on a panel of cardstock in a herringbone pattern, and then wrapped some vellum with a white embossed sentiment around the panel before adhering it to a top folding white card base.

Mermaid birthday for Hero Arts

Today, I'm sharing a card using the June My Monthly Hero kit, plus one of the add-on background stamps.

I created the background by smooshing reactive inks onto some Bristol cardstock, and spraying with water. After it was dry, I stamped the Dark Sea bold prints stamp in Versamark over the panel, and clear embossed it, and then I smooshed Unicorn white ink over the embossed panel and wiped off the excess ink.

I stamped the mermaid image from the MMH kit, and gave her a haircut! I then coloured her with copic markers and added some sparkle to her hair. I finished the card with a stamped and ink blended sentiment and some pearls from the kit.

Watercolour powders for Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card using powdered watercolours along with products from Paper Rose Studio.

I started with a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth, and coloured it with Nuance watercolor powders, water and Perfect Pearls in water. I dried the panel and then embossed it with the Baby Blue embossing folder, before adhering it to a top folding white card base. I cut the Blossom dies multiple times from white cardstock, and layered them up before adhering them to the coloured panel. I finished with a printed sentiment from Big Black and White Sentiments and some clear sequins.

Seahorses for Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero

For this month's challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero, I've followed the theme in two ways - I've used a watery theme, and a watery technique!

Green glitter birthday for WOW! EMbossing

Hello! Today, I'm over on the WOW! embossing blog with this glittery green birthday card.

I started with a panel of white cardstock, and I blended some distress oxide ink to create a green ombre background. I then heat set this panel, before stamping the Foliage Background Outline stamp in embossing ink, and embossing with the Cerulean embossing glitter. I then used some Distress Inks and Distress Oxide inks to colour in the image, using a water brush.

I finished by die cutting the Happy Birthday sentiment, and embossed the die cut with the same Cerulean embossing glitter, and adhered it to a white shadow layer, before adhering it all to a top folding white card base.

Skater boy

I was recently asked to make a bunch of cards for a friend's neighbour. One of the requests was for a birthday card for a teenaged boy who likes skateboarding. I borrowed the PTI Skater Dude stamp and die set from a friend of mine and got inky (this stamp set and die are now discontinued).

Rainbow Poppies for Paper Rose

I love the Rainbow Poppies paper pack - it's so easy to make a bunch of cards super quickly!

I cut panels of paper from the Rainbow Poppies 6x6 paper pack. I then added a sentiment either with embossing, or with a die cut, or with a printed sentiment, or a combination of those! And that's it! Super simple, super quick!

A rainbow of hearts for WOW! embossing

I am a guest of WOW! Embossing for June, and I had great fun playing with embossing glitter, a stencil, and their fab foilers for this card.

And I made a video - you can find it on the WOW YouTube channel!

By the Sea - Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero

There's a new challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero starting today. The theme is "By the Sea", so you could make something that has images to do with the ocean or the seaside, or you could use a watery technique. I did both on this card, and I added one more technique that is related to the ocean - I used salt!

2 for 1, one-layer cards for Hero Arts

Hello! Last week, I did a live video for Hero Arts on their Facebook page - I've taken that video and edited it to fit into just over 10 minutes.

Towards the end of the live video, I promised to finish colouring in one of the cards by adding colour to the flower instead of shades of grey - this is what I came up with:

Here's the edited video!

Smell the flowers with Paper Rose

Today, I'm sharing a card that's a bit outside of my comfort zone!

I die cut the spring floral frame die from white cardstock, and ink blended some blue ink on the left side, fading to the right side. I adhered it to a white card base, and then chose some die cuts from the Butterfly Garden Die cuts set, along with a sentiment from the Rainbow Poppies Sentiment sheets. The butterflies and the sentiment are popped up on dimensional adhesive.

Guest designer for WOW! Embossing

I am so excited to be a guest designer for WOW! Embossing for June!

I began with a panel of Canson cold pressed watercolour paper, which I painted with cocoa liquid watercolour from Hero Arts, watered down a lot! I then stamped the Leaves in the Wind Bold Prints stamp from Hero Arts in the WOW! Embossing ink, and embossed the image with Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder. I painted the leaves with a combination of Strawberry, Cocoa, Orange and Dandelion liquid watercolours. I swiped the edge of the panel with WOW! Embossing ink, and added more gold embossing powder. I adhered the panel to a top folding white card base.

I cut the "you" die from the "love you" Stamp & Cut sent from Hero Arts three times and glues them together. I then pressed the layered die cuts into the WOW! embossing pad, and added the Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder, heat it, and then repeated 4 times to get a super thick layer of embossing. I also embossed the stamped sentiment from the same Stamp & Cut set, and fussy cit it before adhering the layered die and the stamped sentiment to the card front.
