Chrysanthemum, CASE and Over the Edge, and a milestone!

This card was made with 3 separate challenges in mind.  This week's CASE study card caught my eye, with the blended colour seen through a window.  This week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge is "over the edge - create a Clean And Simple card with a panel or design element that goes Over the Edge of the card front."  This week's Daring cardmakers challenge was to include a chrysanthemum.

Here's what I came up with......
I made the chrysanthemum pretty much the same way I made the flower on this card, but I cut slits in between each of the scallops of each scallop circle before sticking them together with a brad, wetting them with water and scrunching.
The window is actually acetate, with a white panel that I blended some pale blue and sand coloured ink onto, adhered with dimensional adhesive behind the acetate.  The butterflies are also on dimensionals.  I have to thank Sue Madex for the butterfly idea - a number of times, she's mentioned how much she loves this embosslits die from Stampin' Up, because how many times do you think you've finished a card, but there's just something missing? - that's exactly how I felt before I added the butterflies - thanks, Sue!!

In other news, just this evening, I had my 10,000th visitor to my blog!! I know that, compared to some other blogs, this is very small fry, but I find this SO EXCITING, and it is so encouraging that people actually want to look at the cards I make!  Thanks everyone, especially to my lovely followers, and to the gorgeous people who have left such kind comments - I really appreciate it!
